No. It's a stupid idea. A one time check isn't the benefit it seems. The money should be used for genuine universal healthcare and affordable housing.

I believe the headline says yearly, not one time. Also this is money from billionaires. You're right, this plan isn't perfect, so the billionaires should keep it instead.

Taxing billionaires and corporations is a great thing, but 12k per family is nothing. That's someone needing dentures, or any medical issue worse than a sprained ankle. It's not enough for many of them, even with the insurance it's also not enough to cover.
