is this about airflow? that really is valid, people don't get enough fresh air inside imo.
about the cats, yeah, they definitely deserve a spot next to you.
edit: i checked and yes it's about co2 buildup. keep the air moving, open that door.
Next to me would be FINE. On my face? No, thank you, sweetums.
I would like to but damn those birds are loud starting from 4am
Omg, the mocking birds here are insane. I wake up early naturally, but those motherfuckers are SO LOUD they wake me up even earlier.
I have a book recommendation for you
Experts: open their cage door too and this problem will resolve itself
No, I mean the birds outside. I need to dut my windows and my door not to hear them
Just use Teflon cookware.
It's a fire prevention thing to keep doors closed, if a fire breaks out when you're asleep it really can make the difference in you surviving it. But, the cats aren't going to let me do that, so we all go down together.
But that is why here in Belgium it is mandated that doors have a minimum gap for ventilation while also keeping the door closed and also outside ventilation
Fire likes oxygen. As it turns out, so do lungs.
That's what the smoke detectors are for. They are mandatory where I live.
Is there data to support this? I imagine if a fire breaks out in an apartment and I don't wake up in time, I'm fucked anyway. Hopefully smoke detectors in all rooms will do their job.
Yes
I just keep my window open. Unless it rains, then it's closed.
You could just sleep with the window open, rather than having the cat jump on your belly at 3am waking you up and scaring the hell out of you.
I don't live in a climate that supports that. My cat can come and go as she pleases. My other cat won't come in at night because it's not his territory.
Yeah, getting a good air quality monitor has made me understand the value of open windows. The co2 levels are so much higher with the windows closed
My window faces a busy road. Air quality is definitely way better with the window closed.
why not both? both is good.
