I don't know that we can call this a victory. It's just a delay. The program wasn't even active yet. They're just pulling it the code and will just as it back in when it's "ready".

A victory would be Meta stating definitively that they'll never implement any sort of centralized facial recognition technology. And even that probably barely qualifies coming from a company that has repeatedly engaged in downright malicious surveillance.

A victory would be putting Fuckerberg and the rest of the leadership in prison and then breaking meta up into hundreds of useless companies that eventually go out of business. They deserve no less for what they've done to the world.
