But how do you buy Monero. Asking as someone who has never used Crypto.
Several ways:
Sell a good/service on XMRBazaar.com
RetoSwap.com is a software you download that is a peer to peer decentralized exchange. You can pay others with whatever payment methods are supported PayPal, Zelle, Cash App, Amazon gift cards, cash-in-mail, etc.
Centralized exchange (not recommended) you can give all of your KYC information to a centralized exchange such as Coinbase and buy something like USDC on there and then use an instant swap service such as trocador.app to convert the USDC into Monero.
Mine it with your CPU: This is the slowest way but also the most permissionless
Is mining monero feasible?
Yes, its meant to be CPU mineable
(Different person than you replied to) Does that have a positive return, vs the electricity you gotta use?
No agenda for the question. I sincerely have no idea about it. I'd venture a guess tho, that if there was a positive return, ppl would do it at scale and drive down the return. And maybe they'd do it in places with very cheap power.
In fiat, no.
ty.
second this, used to buy them with kraken but it now requires an ID which kinda defeats the whole anonymous purchase
Sure kraken knows you bought moneo, but once it's off their servers they don't know what you spent it it. It's like going to a ATM, the bank knows what you took out, but not where the money went.
