They did have a wikipedia and a jankish ( professionally built but maybe 15 years ago) looking family website with no images of family

Are you sure it wasn't Perdue? The Sackler family did have their fingers in things all over the world, including art galleries, oil and media. They are a very secretive family and remove shit regularly from the internet if it paints them in a bad light.
