I'll think about it when they have an ARM option

Oh very interesting, I had not heard of that. Thanks for the link

Frankly shocked to see you say that. You either have a very specific job or are a particularly interesting weirdo. What would be your use case?

I probably fall more into the "weirdo" camp, although whether or not it's interesting is up for debate. I have never been happy with the Intel Management Engine running closed source code so since the early 2010s or so I've either had x86 machines that ran libreboot or had the IME disabled. I have an ARM laptop now that works pretty well. Closed x86 firmware is not going away so I'm more hoping it becomes easier to run open source firmware on ARM, and I have been hoping for a pro-consumer company like framework or system76 to pick that mantle up

For Linux, there is not much difference between CPU architectures.

I'm a linux user myself, but can't see ARM doing anything particularly well in a laptop in the near future, at least outside of the Apple cult. Even S76's high power ARM desktop looks (to me) extremely limiting versus a comparable AMD machine.

Sure, the performance so far is nothing to write home about. Servers should do a bit better, but I haven't looked in many years.
