WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Monday to clear the way for an executive order from President Donald Trump that could dramatically change mail-in voting ahead of November’s midterm elections.

The Justice Department asked the justices to halt for now lower court decisions blocking the sweeping changes in nearly half the country.

The request comes shortly after Trump delivered a primetime address elevating his yearslong push to raise doubts about the legitimacy of elections, and could be one of several voting-related challenges before the court ahead of the high-stakes midterm contest.

In my city we have 'no excuse' early voting. I voted today and the election isn't for a week.

If you're a voter in the US, please, please, please check with your local election board and make sure your registration is in order. Also check if they have early voting and make it a point to vote in person. Even if this doesn't succeed, getting to your precinct and putting your ballot in the box is the only way your voice is guaranteed to be heard in these next two elections.

Also, and don't come at me, but make it a point to appear average. Think of it like a job interview and you're making it a point to blend in so there's no reason for someone to fuck with your right to vote. If you have colored hair, wear a hat. Tattoos? Long-sleeves. You get my drift.

You shouldn't have to do it, but in Donald's America, it may be necessary.

I'm an overseas voter in a horribly- (and illegally-)gerymandered mess of a state that has only gone redder as I've gotten older. We'll have to see what happens. Not that I have the money or resources to do anything about it from the opposite side of the world.
