The rise of independent media has been part of a digital transformation that transcends politics, as chronically online Americans are turning toward news from social media and content creators. But it’s not just the popularity of smartphones driving that change.

Until recently I would say David Pakman was a good watch, but he does Ad reads. I've been casually following Kyle Kulinski since 2020. (YT @SecularTalk)

That's not to say some of these ad readers are bad. Depends on the product. If they are pushing things like Nebula, Incogni, or Ground News, I usually give them a pass as these are generally beneficent services at least. If it's stuff like War thunder, Ridge wallets or Factor, um...that's the kind of thing I expect from gamer channels. (I still wince a little when I see SciShow do an ad read, as context.)

edit: OMG I almost forgot the Majority Report. Excellent interviews! They just had AOC on last night.

Ezra Klein is not independent, (works for the NYT) however he's really high quality. I found is recent interview with Graham Platners former Political strategist quite enlightening. (the guy is..."interesting," to say the least)

Erza Klein is a mouthpiece for the establishment and billionaires. He should never be trusted.

You roll in different lanes than I. (And that's okay.)

you should go watch that Ezra Klein interview. Quite eye opening. (in the same way watching a slow motion train wreck is "eye opening") Morris Katz is clearly left wing, but he's also clearly and salesman at heart. Like he recognizes that mistakes were made, but then tries to justify them in facepalming ways. Real "swing and a miss" type stuff.
