Oh yeah, what is my belief system them?
according to posters on lemmy, I vote for trump, but i'm also far left, i'm a centrist lib, but also a far right socialist, etc.
weird how that there is zero consistency in how others categorize me... perhaps because I don't have a rigid well-defined system of belief that they insist I must have. you have have beliefs about the world without them being systematic or unified under any particular ideology or political grouping.
though i understand that for most fediverse users, this idea is inconceivable, because they live to define themselves and others by belief systems, and like you, then immediately go for insults about how stupid, dumb, and ignorant you are, if you don't agree with them about your own beliefs.
because you know, just insult, mock, and harass anyone who doesn't agree with you. as you just done. because you are some superior being who is so well-educated and I am clearly an ignorant fool who should listen to you and your wisdom.
No, don't listen to my opinions, disagree with them vehemently that is fine.
What you need to stop doing is conflating having an inconsistent, unexamined belief system handed to you by the society around you and the cues you took from it with not having a belief system which is literally impossible as a sentient human trying to make sense of the world around them.
I was kind of switching into a classist tone in my frustration and you are right to point it out, fair enough and genuinely that is a shitty thing to lean into I am sorry, I recognize education is extremely unequal and not knowing things is not a fair basis to judge people on... however please recognize that a lack of your awareness of parts of you does not mean those parts do not exist.
yeah, i'm such a dummy with my master's degree which i had to spend two years writing a thesis on the topic of belief system formation.
please tell me more about how awful I am though. and how hard it is to be you with your superior intellect and awareness of all things.
and it's not at all that you're a yet another fragile egotistical fedi user who thinks they are a Supreme Genius, who tells other posters here how they lack 'awareness' for the crime of what... making you mad with words on computer screen you don't like?
Lol, what diploma will would give you a masters on belief system formation when you don't even realize you have a belief system
This is a real thing though; it's called keeping an open mind and trying to reduce bias. Most people don't get it because they're basically running an operating system of biases and stereotypes and groupthink.
The hard part is resisting people putting you into boxes. Half my comments or posts on Lemmy, people try to force me into an extremist "take" or "position" so they can argue against me. But very often, there is no hard set belief here, I'm just stating my opinion. If I see information that convinces me otherwise, I'll change it; but no amount of emotional arguments, name calling, or fallacies mean anything to me.
