Both parties are charged with keeping their 330 million people maximally productive. The US isn't the richest country in the world without reason.
The country is rich, the people aren't.
To be fair, the US isn't rich so much because of its own productivity, but through being the world's largest empire, plundering from the global south.
A two party state is a one party state with another step.
Seriously though, don't want to be cynical- there is a massive difference between the two parties. One is a meek bureaucrat, the other a convicted serial rapist, and quite literally.
Certainly the Democrats knew Harris would lose to Trump. She wasn't even popular amongst Democrats.
That said, the jury did not find Trump liable for rape, but he was found guilty of sexual abuse. Which would be bad enough, but Democrats like to screw themselves by exaggerating everything and looking hyperbolic for doing so.
They also say stupid things like Vance humps couches which makes the person saying it look way worse than Vance.
She was polling very strong. I don't know if you remember but she was crushing it, there was momentum, then suddenly Trump won every single swing state with a statistically shocking margin.
You don't even have to be conspiratorial, it is a well documented fact that Musk bribed people to vote for Trump in an illegal raffle.
Then immediately after the election Musk was given the keys to the kingdom and the archives and with a literal chainsaw and {stuff happened} and three months later he and his crew went away and were persona non grata again.
Like...
I don't mean to sound like that but I've been involved with some seedy business and I know when some shady shit went down, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out

That’s the thing a lot of people are rich, enough anyway to keep the dream alive.
