I do not mean to insult and I do not want to say that is an ideal situation. By all means I hope you can improve it.

I would not consider that as being poor due to how I interpret what poverty is: you still have money left after you cover for your life expenses.

You live on benefits, thus I imagine you have free time; that is quite a luxury. You have an apartment where you live alone, where I live that's quite uncommon even for people who held a decent job for decades.

Sure: those people are not below the poverty line, yet they can afford less than you do.

But I mean, we're not here in a competition as to who is more wrecked, luckily this is a good life.

that's your own definition, not what the actual definition is. and i have money left over because i don't buy new clothes and wear clothes that are multiple sizes too small under a worn hoodie

You live on benefits, thus I imagine you have free time; that is quite a luxury.

ah yes, the luxury of being laying in bed pretty much the entire of my existence because i have basically no energy to get out of bed due to my physical and mental health

You have an apartment where you live alone, where I live that’s quite uncommon even for people who held a decent job for decades.

it's more of a shoebox than an apartment (22.5sqm), living in this small of an apartment is worse than living with at least mediocre roommates. in finland due to how the benefit system works and how the culture is, it's near impossible to find shared flats though if you're not a student so i just have my own tiny apartment

But I mean, we’re not here in a competition as to who is more wrecked

yes, but this isn't an excuse to dismiss peoples' struggles just because you don't personally consider them struggling enough

luckily this is a good life.

speak for yourself, i hate not being able to participate in basically anything because i'm basically bedridden. i hate not having almost any money and having to spend it all because the welfare system wont let me save my money. my life fucking sucks having many mental and physical problems and having to live an undignified life looking like a hobo that does drugs cus i can't work even part-time
