It's more like he's the figurehead that all the tankies will defend no matter what. Kinda like MAGA with Trump expect Hasan isn't a politician. MAGA and moderate Republicans (if there are any left at this point) wants to make it look like the entire left is Hasan Piker, and thus moderates disavowed him before they are harassed with all the indefensible things he has said and done over the years like some DSA candidates are dealing with now for biting this bullet
