Is this how I get to know Heath Ledger died? His acting was great nonetheless and I would've loved to watch him in future movies. I feel bad now ;(
Yeah, just a few months after The Dark Knight came out. 18 years ago.
It's a shame if you got it from this comment because in my opinion, in the context of the time when the film was released, and with the history of portrayals of The Joker at that time, Ledger absolutely would have been in serious contention for a supporting actor Oscar.
He... was in serious contention for the Supporting Actor Oscar. Serious enough that he won it. Posthumously of course, but he still won.
I kind of wish we could have seen what we'd have had in terms of movies if we hadn't had the drug/alcohol deaths and suicides from famous actors over the years.
