I’ll be the first to admit, the main tipping point for us was FOMO over the the novated leasing FBT getting reduced from next year onwards.
Still waiting on delivery, but damned happy we finally pulled the trigger.
Every time I do the back-of-napkin math (solar panels, home battery, EV) - it makes me smile.
Especially while the electricity providers are offering overnight EV charging plans (5-8c/kW) - going to try and piggyback that into charging up the home batteries to cover our power bill during the day, which then gets topped up by the panels throughout the day.
~$2,500 saved on fuel a year, ~$500 a year saved on home electricity.
That’s a significant chunk of change back in our pockets.
