Sadly Jackie has betrayed the people of Hong Kong. In 2009 he stated "I'm not sure if it's good to have freedom or not.". He also said he was "beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled."

Most people here don't understand what it's like to live under such governments. Sometimes you really have no choice. I don't know about chan, but it might be the case.

If he's that rich and famous then why couldn't he just get his family out of the country?

I mean I know the CCP polices the Chinese diaspora worldwide, but it would at least be somewhat better to be outside their legal jurisdiction...
