that won't work. if everyone were to stop driving or relying on gas tomorrow. the oil companies would still raise the price because they are now "losing money" due to low demand and have to raise prices to make up for the make-believe money they are "losing"
No, with production then vastly too high they wound try to sell as much as possible to at least make some money before/during/after shutting down. But you are free point out where a product got obsolete/not bought and still more expensive despite high production in the past.
