Where I live in Sweden I have not seen quite that spread of temperatures yet. But not far off... I have seen -43C and +35C in the same area.

Finnish here, I've (somewhat) likewise seen -45c and +38 in the same town. I preferred -45c, easily.

Yeah, continental is more extreme and maritime is milder. Look up Kazakhstan or something to compare.
