In principle? Yes. It could become a complete cryptographic attestation chain.

I don't think we're right on the edge of that rn. But years or decades from now? Who TF knows.

I could easily see things like Discord, Meta, Google, Reddit, and Twitter doing this if it came to that, for instance.

Imagine a world where everyone is connected via brain implants. Reality is fully augmented and thoughts are bought and sold while being carefully screened for violations. Only individuals with enough credits can be free in their own minds. What makes us human gets lost as we progress into the singularity.
