Not here long from Reddit, looking for suggestions of fun and entertaining places.

What are you interested in? Look for communities that relate to your interests.

Keep in mind that Lemmy is decentralized - there's multiple servers, not just one. You can subscribe to communities even if they're on other servers though. There's some browser sites that let you browse communities across multiple servers.
