Spoken like someone who has absolutely no idea what it's like to try and organize people scattered across a fucking continent.
Specifically a continent with very poor access to public services that would make organization easier.
A continent where even speaking out can cost your your job and therefore Healthcare.
A continent where your neighbor might be someone who agrees with you, or they might blow your head off because they thought you might vote for a lefty.
A continent where the government has already threatened to murder any citizen they want just for fighting back against their authoritarian boot. A continent where your closest regional capital might be hours away.
My state is larger than most European countries. The logistics of organizing real action on this scale is insane. And a lot of very rich people have spent a lot of money for a very long time to make sure it's as hard to do anything about their tyrannical bullshit as possible.
The best most of us can do is vote, try and organize like-minded people locally, and survive the next week.

crazy how an election system designed by people who never want to leave power could get me a leadership neither I nor anyone I care about voted for.
We hopefully will never "own" or occupy neighboring countries, but it doesn't change how massive our country is.
Turns out, some people can vote for candidate A and get candidate B either way.
Especially considering that US electoral system works in a way that even if the majority of the population chooses candidate A, candidate B can still win the election.
Iirc, this is exactly what happened to Trump, at least on his first term. Most votes were for Clinton, but Trump won anyway.
Your position could be understandable back in the day when it was mostly Russia and China who acted like that, and so it could be easy to feel superior by ignoring the objective factors getting into the equation. Nowadays, it spreads, and remaining ignorant about it will likely bite you in the not-so-distant future.
I too hate the comment you're replying to, but calling the USA - hell, even North America, though I don't see how that would apply here, I'm just trying to accomodate you - a fucking continent is just wrong. Coupled with the good ol' "my state is larger than most European countries" - yeah, no.
There are much better arguments to be made against that sort of comment.

Just go ahead and fiddle around with different US states or the country itself, and you'll find out quite easily just how big the "united" states are.
