Who's pulling hundreds of feet of already terminated cable?
People who work on highrises. Ownership and management really have no concept of what they are asking when they say the server room needs to go from one side of the building to another, especially if there is satellite internet. Fuck satellite internet.
Your infrastructure cabling shouldn't ever be terminated to rj45. That should always be terminated to a keystone jack.
But even if you're dealing with cables that were terminated into rj45 and need to be relocated with rj45s at the new location, you should just go ahead and cut the ends off. The cable can get snagged and stuck with the end on.
Broadcast jobs. Every single job you run, and then later pull, dozens or hundreds of data cables.
Oh, labelling? Forget it. You'll label the first batch, and then be in a frantic rush that nothing else is labelled. Just a messy spreadsheet that you try to not forget.
Your comment is giving me flashbacks. We did label all our cables though (with masking tape and a marker).
Every gig I would tell myself I'd label everything. On average I'd label 95% of video cables, and 50% of the data cables
