I mean, everyone loved it until close to the end, so hardly a surprise.
It’s like if a well-loved fancy restaurant served you 6 amazing courses, then gave you a shit sandwich for dessert. It doesn’t matter how good the other courses were, you’d complain and tell everybody to avoid the place.
It’s exactly the same way with TV shows. Shit ending = shit show
I used to dance and one of my teachers, in a situation where we had to improvise a little at an event that had hired us said "you need a very strong beginning and ending, people can forgive a lot in the middle."
So the end season of a show being shit is worse than a bad season in the middle. I didn't watch it through but that makes logical sense to me.
Yes. It’s the basis of storytelling to nail down the beginning and ending first, then major points inbetween, and then work on the rest. Ending makes or breaks a story, whatever the medium
book readers had been calling it shite since season 4 at the latest. folks who made it to season 7 before realizing it had fallen apart are a little bit slow.
The costumes and set work were visibly dogshit from episode 1. My friends and I were very excited for a high production value fantasy show to finally happen. Then they spent all the money on actors willing to do nude scenes (they must’ve missed the market saturation of fantasy porn and smut literature). I think I made it 4 episodes and was glad people came around eventually because that period between was unpleasant.
