corolla, mazda3, civic, elantra are all great cars and not shitboxes. what are you talking about?
it's your mentality that drives people to drive huge cars they don't need. a base level small car is 25K and you can lux them up to be luxury cars at around 30K, all without losing the mileage and safety.
I had a mazda 3, you're right it was great but the used market is full of clapped out shit boxes and no one can afford to buy new these days. The people who can afford new cars are buying giant suvs and trucks.
25K civic is affordable for anyone on a salary 50/60K. The average salary in the USA for a single person is 48K....
yeah, it's true that stupid people buy cars they can't afford, rather than cars they can. the issue is people making 50K are buying cars that are 50K.
fwiw I'm looking for a used car 2-3yr old used in the 25K price range, and there are tons available in my area.
