My girlfriend writes them in a word processor, prints them and keeps them organized alphabetically in a binder.
Yeah, I was gonna say, just a bunch of Markdown files would probably be fine. Use e.g. mdBook if you want a static webpage with search.
A dedicated service might have some advantages, but personally, I'd care much more about having my recipe collection in a format that I can access without specific software.
i did this for a good while. Obsidian did great.
i only migrated to mealie because I wanted a better way to share recipes in my household and quickly share them with a shared tablet in the kitchen. Needed to get it out of my personal docs.
I also kinda liked the ability import from url which saves a good 10min transcribing and cleaning up in markdown. Not that i still dont have to cleanup recipes, just it starts in a better place so its quicker.
