That's just a lie...

The food is good, for "fast" food it's amazing. Like, I don't think there's another fastfood option that hasn't fully transition to the mcChicken method were the patty is reconstituted scraps.

Their politics with LGBTQ is (was?) absolute dog shit and more than enough reason to boycott them as an isolated issue...

But honestly looking at any other aspect of their company, and they're one of the most worker friendly options. Which again, is not a high bar to clear, especially in fast food.

So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons. It's just damn near every other option is even worse, so if they have consistent logic their boycott list is every major corporation. Like, the owner has 10 billion dollars, no billionaire owned company is going to be ethical. If someone's only issue with Chick-fil-A is the anti-lgbt stuff, that doesn't mean they're a good person, it means they only care about the demographic they consider "us".

But again; saying they're food isn't good is just a flat out lie.

Dude, you're fighting a losing battle here. Their food is good, I like it just fine, and these people are clearly just letting their personal bias get in the way of that. I do not agree with Chick-fil-As politics, but im not gonna let that stop me from eating it when my boss goes out and brings it back to us for free. There isnt a single good chicken place near work, other than Chick-fil-A.

I mean, there's a reason humans are still tribal in 2026, and it's not exclusive to conservatives.

We evolved to handle the social load of less than 200 other humans, that's the entire world we evolved for...

Everyone else is a "them" and we can juggle a couple groups of them, lumped by superficial characteristics because that's how tribes identified themselves.

We couldn't know every member of every tribe, so we judged everyone by their tribe.

People who strongly identify as LGBT, hate Chick-fil-A more than they hate McDonald's, despite McDonald's working closely with trump, treating their workers much worse, and serving vastly unhealthier food. And their CEO probably being just as against LGBT as chicfila's.

All that matter is chicfila is "a bad tribe" so anyone that doesn't treat that specific tribe as 100% an enemy, becomes an enemy of everyone slightly connected to LGBT in their eyes.

It's not logical, but I understand why they're doing it.

It just sucks that same behavior is exploited for issues much larger than a fucking chicken sandwich. If they "fight" chicfila with shit like comments in this thread, they get the same dopamine hit as doing anything productive, and then are less likely to actually be productive.

Bread and fucking circuses man.

The only way out of that maladaptive wiring, is treating every individual as a tribe of one, it's just hard and brains are lazy.

Greasy beading that sloughs off the chicken immediately isn't good by any metric, fast food or otherwise.

They also went to the supreme court so they could determine the healthcare their employees get. Company is rotten

Greasy beading that sloughs off the chicken immediately isn’t good by any metric, fast food or otherwise.

Ok buddy, but:

  1. That's not the norm, and remember, this is in comparison to other fastfood options.

  2. If you're boycotting them, how do you know that's what it's like?

But most importantly:

Company is rotten

I said every corporation sucks...

That includes chicfila...

They also went to the supreme court so they could determine the healthcare their employees get.

Not sure why you expect people to know what you're referring too...

[–] Jackusflackus@lemmy.world 0 points 22 hours ago

Yea over gross food is the norm. I’ve been to several ones in ours and adjacent states. Never had a meal that was good.

Not exactly a small sample size.

[–] ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip -1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, that is the norm. And has been for years.

Occasionally for work functions, someone else brings some in. And, because I have eyes, I can see them falling apart before even being picked up. And I conclude that I'm still not missing out on anything.

Why go to bat for this shitty food?

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

So you’ve never eaten it and are judging it as bad food?

[–] ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip -1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Apparently reading comprehension is not a required skill to be a chikfila shill.

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It’s the writing that needs work. Your comments heavily suggest that you only have seen the food but never halve eaten it. Is that incorrect?

[–] ParlimentOfDoom@piefed.zip 0 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

At no point does it imply I've never eaten it. You've chosen to infer that because you think it's a gotcha ihat feeds your pointless compulsion to continue arguing in favor of shitty fried chicken.

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 hours ago

someone else brings some in. And, because I have eyes, I can see them falling apart before even being picked up. And I conclude that I'm still not missing out on anything.

You’re maintaining that this sentence doesn’t carry the implication that you didn’t eat the food?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why go to bat for this shitty food?

Why are you ignoring how bad everything else is?

Hell, look at what McDonald's gives trump...

But for fucks sake man, when someone says "every corporation is bad" they're not defending any of them...

I have no idea why you can't understand that, but I'm sure as shit not hanging around for a miracle and I really don't care if it finally clicked or not.

[–] Jackusflackus@lemmy.world -2 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

What are you on about? Why do you have such a hard on for a corporation? McDonald’s fucking sucks too. This thread was explicitly talking about Chick-fil-A

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I contest the food part.

The last sandwich I had there was… fine. Squished, plain bun, thin breading, yet outrageously expensive.

A Raising Cain’s sandwich is way better. Even if price wasn’t a factor, and I couldn’t go local for some reason, I’d much, much rather have Steak and Shake, P Terry, Chicken Express, Rosa’s, Fuzzy’s, PDQ…

[–] acosmichippo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

steak n shake is one of the things i really miss after moving to the DC area. other fancy burger places like five guys held me over for a while, but they don't hit like steak n shake.

[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 hours ago

Has Freddy’s made its way up to DC yet? I may dare say it’s better.

When I lived in DMV, five guys was a new thing and it was so awesome. Cheap, fast, amazing. They had so much business that they would “soup Nazi” people if they didn’t know what they wanted after waiting in line.

[–] Jackusflackus@lemmy.world -1 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

I’m sorry but it’s not good. I’ve eaten at multiple locations and I would 100% rather have chicken sandwiches or fried chicken from local places we have here instead. Their food is overrated.

I don’t care for their politics but that has nothing to do with crappy food.

[–] TrackenDaKracken@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You like their food (objective, so there's no "lying" around that), and so excuse their politics. I get it, it's like separating the artist from the art. Lots of people pay to see Tom Cruise movies, or now to see Ed Sheeran, or maybe Bill Burr.

Some people don't.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

You like their food

What the fuck are you talking about?

I said compared to every other fastfood place that uses processed chicken patties, it's good.

Some people don’t.

The other point you e completely missed:

So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons. It’s just damn near every other option is even worse, so if they have consistent logic their boycott list is every major corporation.

How the fuck is "So if anyone is boycotting Chick-fil-A, they have valid reasons" defending chicfila's politics?!

I'm saying boycotting them is valid

But only boycotting them is illogical

[–] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 18 hours ago

This part:

If someone's only issue with Chick-fil-A is the anti-lgbt stuff, that doesn't mean they're a good person, it means they only care about the demographic they consider "us".

If you want to make another thread about how you want to boycott all fast food restaurants, go ahead and do that. No one is stopping you.

Saying that boycotting chic fil alone out of all the fast food companies is illogical, in a comment thread about the specific harms they're doing, is defending them by throwing up a smoke screen. "They're all bad". Ok... But bringing that up here is diverting the conversation. Which i am participating in...
