Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !uspolitics@lemmy.world
7) No Hit-and-Run questions.
Please don't delete your post for no apparent reason. If you plan on deleting a question later, say so in the post, or if you feel that you have a good reason to remove it, message a mod beforehand. It's not fair to the ones who took their time to answer, and it's not in the spirit of the community.
8) No Bots.
Posts or comments from bots, LLM's, AIs, Neural Networks, Transformers, or Marvin the Paranoid Android are not welcome in AskLemmy. Real humans only please.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Lemmy was started by authoritarian communists (often called tankies) who got banned from Reddit, so they are generally more abundant here. They have their own alternate version of reality where the USSR was the most perfect society to ever exist and the west is the source of all evil in the world.
There are a few instances (aka servers) they tend to congregate on, but the main one is Lemmy.ml. It was the first server made so despite its extreme ideological slant, it still has a lot of subscribers. Just avoid any communities on Lemmy.ml and this shouldn't happen anymore.
And hexbear IMO.
oh hey you're the guy who got banned for coming into a trans space and calling people fake cause you didn't like their opinions, interesting that you've found new home.
Wow, your days must be fun.
But we already talked about it and I came out clean. But I guess you forgot that and now I'm "that guy", guess rules only go one way for you.
I'll kick out tankies all day any day btw, especially if they masquerade as trans to gain favours (which was the case here IIRC), but being banned on .ml is what you'll get just for being normal or knowing history lol.
Can you expand on this?
since you forgot, it was this exchange.
yeah being a transphobe is pretty 'normal' these days.
To elaborate, they are tankies who believe trans rights are western pink washing. And who larp as Haitian revolutionaries from their ergonomic computer chairs. And who literally do not post outside of their home instance because they can't handle the internet without their "I win" ban button.
no such thing as authoritarian lib
Yeah, it's really inconvenient for y'all when people have a word to accurately summarize the fatal flaw in your ideology isn't it?
Which country is not authoritarian?
China and Russia of course!!

It's why they hate the words authoritarian and have to use their own definitions of it and imperialism. Just to avoid talking about all the war crimes, mass murder, mass rape, and everything else they agree was good.
