Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Btw, today I tried once again to install Void and successfully installed it on my computer. With 5hrs + concentrated setup, I installed graphic drivers, power management tools, swap and app armor on the system.
Don't know how the experience will be, but this time, with a successful installation, I feel much more satisfied than building arch.
I think my hardware situation is simpler (iGPU). May be why I haven’t had many issues. There is a derivative called Odyssey Linux that makes Void easier. It is very new with a very small community at the moment but I’ve tried it and it makes many things easier.
