It may be counterproductive, but what about acid reducers to help with the coffee? It may be best to simply abstain. I've been dealing with reflux for a long time, but I'm able to tolerate it with, not one, but two acid reducers... It used to just be one, and I take it for more than just the coffee. Just some thoughts.
Atm its crazy so even if i scoffed 5 down i would still vomit. Even with the nexium im taking. So yeah absolutely abstaining for me. I have to abstain from a lot atm, otherwise i vomit. So rip
I'm so sorry to hear that. Yeah, that's rough. I hope you feel better.
Thank you
I am not asking about your business, just sharing my issues.
I self-medicated for a number of years, mainly with gallons of coffee in the morning and a couple of twelve-packs in the evening. That habit got super-charged when I started taking Adderall for a while. That was what it was, and it destroyed my stomach and the reflux was horrendous.
Once you get settled with meds, if at all, take a good look at your own habits and diet very broadly. Treatment for ADHD, in whatever form, will give you a decent crutch to adjust anything you need to adjust. (I had to get sober, slow down on the coffee, start running 20 miles a week and much more. Hopefully you have much lighter options and tweaks.)
My stomach has gotten better year-over-year now, so that was a huge plus. Of course, our lives are completely different and my case was a little more on the extreme side. I also am blatantly generalizing folks with ADHD by just implying that most of us have unhealthy habits, but it is not said with ill-intent and simply isn't true for all people.
It may take years for you to adjust your life around treatment and making life decent again with a busted stomach, but don't give up. Time, along with an adjusted lifestyle, can work wonders.
(GERD obviously isn't alcoholism, and I am not meaning to imply that either. Regardless, I sympathize and can relate deeply with your issues.)
Thanks for sharing your experience. Good on you for helping yourself.
But yeah, on addiction, for sure. I was addicted to specifically iced coffee. Drank that so so much. I was absolutely dysfunctional without it. was living by myself for the first time, and was struggling a lot with uni work+at home stuff.
I did also eat a lot of spicey food lol.
I had a gastropocy and found I had a 1cm hiata hernia, probably from all of the vomiting, and its probably doesnt help it at all.
