If you choose between iPhone and Samsung, then yeah. There are decent smartphone manufacturers out there that have all these things and more. But if you're going to choose the duopoly then don't complain when they do whatever they want. You chose them.
My phone has an IR blaster, headphones jack, toolless dual Sim slot, 4 hardware buttons, one of which is programmable to three different functions (single press, double press, and longpress), waterproof, 10,000mAh battery, reverse charging (I can charge other people's phones with mine) and a thermal camera. And it cost less than one of the flagship Samsung phones.
If you want a phone with removable battery and a hardware numeric keypad, you can get one of those too. You've just got to look further than like, best buy or whatever.
You know, you can sit outside in nature, enjoying the lovely world around us while fishing, you dont even have to beg the question "ooooo aaaa what phone do u have" for bait
I'm not trying to sell anyone my phone, or be a shill for the company that made it. I'm just saying, if you want a particular feature, or set of features, just search for "smartphone headphones jack programmable key feature feature feature" whatever your needs are, and you'll find a range of options. Then it's up to you to vet your results, check reviews, watch some videos, and decide if it's right for you.

What phone
It's a Ulefone Armour 27T Pro but I'd only recommend it if you know how to use adb or uad to remove the bloatware and junk apps that are baked into it, because it comes with a lot of garbage. The hardware is very good but the baked in apps and other stuff are really bad.
Probably some Ulefone model, from the sound of it.
