Rules

  1. This is an English-language community. Comments should be in English. Posts can link to non-English news sources when providing a full-text translation in the post description. Automated translations are fine, as long as they don't overly distort the content.
  2. No links to misinformation or commercial advertising. When you post outdated/historic articles, add the year of publication to the post title. Infographics must include a source and a year of creation; if possible, also provide a link to the source.
  3. Be kind to each other, and argue in good faith. Don't post direct insults nor disrespectful and condescending comments. Don't troll nor incite hatred. Don't look for novel argumentation strategies at Wikipedia's List of fallacies.
  4. No bigotry, sexism, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, dehumanization of minorities, or glorification of National Socialism. We follow German law; don't question the statehood of Israel.
  5. Be the signal, not the noise: Strive to post insightful comments. Add "/s" when you're being sarcastic (and don't use it to break rule no. 3).
  6. If you link to paywalled information, please provide also a link to a freely available archived version. Alternatively, try to find a different source.
  7. Light-hearted content, memes, and posts about your European everyday belong in other communities.
  8. Don't evade bans. If we notice ban evasion, that will result in a permanent ban for all the accounts we can associate with you.
  9. No posts linking to speculative reporting about ongoing events with unclear backgrounds. Please wait at least 12 hours. (E.g., do not post breathless reporting on an ongoing terror attack.)
  10. Always provide context with posts: Don't post uncontextualized images or videos, and don't start discussions without giving some context first.

(This list may get expanded as necessary.)

Posts that link to the following sources will be removed

Unless they're the only sources, please also avoid The Sun, Daily Mail, any "thinktank" type organization, and non-Lemmy social media (incl. Substack). Don't link to Twitter directly, instead use xcancel.com. For Reddit, use old:reddit:com

(Lists may get expanded as necessary.)

Ban lengths, etc.

We will use some leeway to decide whether to remove a comment.

If need be, there are also bans: 3 days for lighter offenses, 7 or 14 days for bigger offenses, and permanent bans for people who don't show any willingness to participate productively. If we think the ban reason is obvious, we may not specifically write to you.

If you want to protest a removal or ban, feel free to write privately to the admin that applied the rule (check modlog first to find who was it.)

Dutch Neoliberalism (D66,VVD,CDA,Volt) and Dutch fascism (PVV,FvD,JA21) and even Dutch social democrats (PvdA,GL,CU) are all to happy kiss the American flag.

FYI to everyone, this is desinformation. D66 and Volt oppose the US, and PvdA/GL no longer exist (instead it's Pro now). CU isn't social democratic per se, but rather confessional - though they are economically centre-left.

Pro in fact is one of the harshest opponents of American fascism, alongside with SP, Socialisten, Bij1, and PvdD. D66 and Volt well strongly oppose it, but either believed for longer that a diplomatic solution was possible, or wanted to buy more time to switch to non-diplomacy.

12 years of VVD liberalism is to blame. Unlike the CDA they didn't moderate, instead doubling down on impoverishing the labourer and zzp'ers, favouring privatisation and rogue states over nationalisation, liberation and safety. The fascist and rightist parties are trying to infiltrate and seize the VVD, and they're walking into it with open eyes. They do that through algorithms, bots, AI, and attempting to manipulate legislation.

D66 and Volt oppose the US

This is not true in any meaningful sense. Their words are a bit fighty, I guess, but they vote and advocate for everything that the US asks for.

To oppose the US and be Neoliberal is like opposing cheese whilst being a dairy farmer.

ProNL have been distancing themselves from their socialist roots to a point that most Left don’t call them left at all.

I’m glad you noticed that Bij1, PvdD and SP were missing in my list.

P.S. Where are those 10 new cities D66 promised?

PvdA,GL,CU

Social democrat is a very, very strong term to describe these parties. PvdA has been neoliberalized since Kok, and GL since Halsema. Not sure about CU. They're basically the Clinton and Blair of their respective parties, and the parties haven't recovered since.

Yep, a happy little American colony.

I heard about the "Dutch-American Friendship Treaty" (DAFT -- very aptly named) a while back. An American citizen only needs to register a business (even a ZZP/sole proprietorship works), create a Dutch business bank account, deposit 4,500€ there, and then they get legal residency.

You don't need to give any business plan, nor is there any point-based test (which is required for basically anyone else who wants to move to the Netherlands to start a business)... You don't have to prove that your business is innovative, that you have any higher education, nor that you will hire any Dutch employees... As long as you register your business and deposit the required 4,500€, and that you're an American citizen, your business is legally considered to be in the interest of the Dutch economy and you're granted residency.

lol oh man wtf, imagine trying to do that if your are an African β€œexpat”.

EU leaders are just an extension branch to the Epstein class.

Maybe Spain is just an exception, but all the other EU leaders are puppets to American imperialism and under Zionist control.
