and yet even the non religious find it in bad taste

calling your company Jesus in a small southern town would get you dirty looks at best

still surprised palantir has not caused a law suit

hell calling anything Mohhamed would start violence in many places

I run Jesus in a cluster in my homelabs. Overall good software suite, but kind of resource intensive. Highly recommend a judus instance as well to help watch and kill Jesus instances before they cause an OOM.

But overall best Wine in K8s suite out there /s

there's a wine in k8s suite??

[–] fruitycoder@sh.itjust.works 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe? But I was just writing a fictitious software post aping christian mythology. I went with WINE because of the myth of Jesus turning water into wine, and k8s because I like it

i am from Kentucky. i run a k3s cluster at unhelpful.observer, which my online friends use to play multiplayer dwarf fortress succession games on different days of the week

Sweet! K3s is great! Running game instances on k8s is what got me into it in the first place

People should stop getting so offended over a simple name. I’ve seen lots of “Jesus” in USA small business names. Especially in the Southwest, haha.

how about we just dont use random names from other cultures, completely separate from their actual meaning

i mean its not that big a deal to me but it is kinda lazy

again the palantir example would be rage baiting though

Well, I agree that they shouldn’t use this name. That’s not even a mermaid right? I have no problem with them using a Hawaiian mermaid name for a markdown mermaid app.

I don’t agree with the name usage. Mustang is a Horse, isn’t should t be used outside of the equestrian scene? What about the white gods, I bet you’re fine using those.

Pick your favorite:

Nike, Hermes, Apollo, Zeus, Athena, Ares, Artemis, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Atlas, Titan, Triton, Eros, Helios, Hyperion, Pegasus, Pandora, Dionysus, Aphrodite, Hercules, Mercury, Achilles, Morpheus, Nemesis, Iris, Selene, Demeter, Prometheus, Kronos, Gaia, Pan, Echo, Nyx, Orion, Phoenix, Ajax, Argus, Olympus, Perseus, Medusa

There’s an Orion web browser…. I’ll bet you’ve got some words for them.

no it is a goddess as opposed to a mythical creature

closer to the greek gods yea but far as i know no one practices that religion, regardless those are pretty lazy names as well
