Only place it really hurts you is on a dating profile.
And in that case, you're supposed to just lie about it, duh. If you're at least 5'6", just round that up to 6'. 9/10 times, she won't notice the difference, and it won't come up until well after you're in an established relationship, and by then she won't want to leave you just because of your height, if she even remembers you claiming to be 6' in the first place.
Mostly, the only girls who will notice are girls who are tall themselves -- they'll notice that they're taller than you are. So, sorry, even though tall girls are great, you short kings out there will be missing out on them. But, still, lying will work great most of the time.
I'm 6 foot and my husband is 5'9. You don't need to miss out on the tall girls.
