I use Cinny for desktop use, heard good things about Sable 2.0 (non-vibecoded version), but I'm not sure they can make a client from ground up in a month without LLM usage, seems suspicious. FluffyChat for android, iOS version is available too. Verifying keys works, no encryption errors but I don't have a lot of 1-on-1 rooms
I don't know much about security, but I avoided using Lemmy on my phone for example, is it safe to use something like matrix on your phone?
A modern cell phone is just another computer with different underlying hardware. The security is dependent more upon the software & OS, and there can be flaws in those regardless of the hardware. Anything connected to the Internet (or any outside connection, really) is technically a risk. Nothing is ever certain.
I guess that primarily depends on which OS you're using on phone and computer and how you define "safe". I find Windows and Android inherently unsafe. Linux and GrapheneOS, mostly safe.
safest- id say, I don't think anything is 100% safe, like on pc i use linux and I feel that's safer than the old ass Iphone I use. Like on a phone they can decide tomorrow "oh btw we are gonna scan your entire phone now just because or record your screen or whatever" while on linux I feel that's not a thing.
They didn't. It's a fork of Cinny.
They removed every mention of it being a fork of cinny after 2.0 rebase
