I agree. Wireless buds are great. As are wired. Back in the day no one forced you to choose one.
And if you want to you still don't have to choose between the two. You have to choose between phones that let you use both and phones that make you use wireless.
You do, actually. Because 98% of modern phones don't have them. But you already know this.

You're missing the non-comprehensive list of phone models without it.
Including tablets that have smartphone features and smartphones over the past 3 years
That means that at best it is a 3 to 1 ratio, although it would be closer to say more like 5 to 2, and not 49 to 1 as you said.
I'm not talking about phones that exist. I'm talking about phones that you can buy in your local country, that a normal person would actually want to buy.
