I’ve never had to cancel or walk back any AI bullshit for my email service, because I’ve never used AI for it at all. I almost consider it one of my features now:

i only want humans reading my email!

1000% employment! (everybody has 10 jobs reading each other's emails)

i kid, but i have questions:

  • what country are the servers located in?
  • is this hosted on a cloud service or a vps or something else?
  • are you hiring sysadmins or python devs or devops?

edit: cloudflare

The servers are located in my office in California. They’re not cloud servers, they’re my own hardware. :)

Unfortunately, I can’t hire anyone yet. I’m still working on building out the business features, then I’ll be marketing it more and hopefully be able to hire people.

$9.99/month to use a custom domain.

Yes. Proton lets you use 1 domain for $4, or 3 domains for $10. Port87 is unlimited domains for $10.

The bigger difference is storage, because right now, Port87 is fully NVMes. I’m working on implementing RAID arrays so I can lower the cost of storage.

Fun fact: adding more domains to your account does not cost me (or Proton) any more money. That’s why I priced it at one payment for unlimited domains. I’m not really sure why Proton limits you to 3.
