I want a form of government where to become president you have to travel to 7 ancient temples and at each one pass the trial and acquire the artifact

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I'm shocked nobody's commented on the reference yet.

"Go away you silly k-nig-gtt. Fetchez la Vache!"

"run away! run away!"

For those too young to remember or haven't been exposed to it, this is from Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail.

This is a must watch for any political cynic.

Edit:. I'm sorry I didn't see the duck comment that came an hour before me.

You're sure it's not Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire?

Hold on, let me eat a shroom and reread that before I answer. o.0

As a frenchman, I always eared "faites chier la cache", which is slang for "throw the cow"

My short time on a term abroad many years ago in France did not expose me to that. You may well be right. However, the actions they took while doing that To me, it was equivalent to "get the cow".

The Monty Python crew is a whole bunch of really really smart people so they may have had that Slang in mind and perhaps they did say that.

edit: unrelared comment , since you are French: i fell in love with Mylene Farmer while there, still love her work and am happy to see she is still doing amazing work today.

when i heard Alizee sing i had a hunch and found i was right that Mylene and her husband were on her team. i recognized the style.

Depends, does she weigh more than a duck?

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago
