From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I think the other persons point is that if you were to start at 6.0 and sum all the CVEs until 7.0, the numbers would be similar to the CVEs from 7.0

This doesn't make sense. We are comparing single releases, not the entirety of 6.0 up to 7.0. How many years would this be? Also why do people want see 6.0? We have 14 last releases, in span of 2.5 years. And only the last two or 3 releases got a huuuge spike, which coincides with the broad usage and advancements of Ai in the Kernel.

We don't need to compare older versions. The data is here and enough to support this claim. These are 14 releases for gods sake.

I am not saying I agree with the other person, just how I understand them.
