I did mine end of 2021/beginning of 2022, these days I actually use my LCD steam deck for most everything and even then I'll often stream from my desktop. Right now I'm on a morrowind kick so playing a nearly 25 year old game, deck handles openmw and mods amazing.
I have a huge backlog already so don't feel compelled to buy a lot of new stuff and I'm just not keeping up with what's hot anymore. I have other hobbies than gaming as well, other reason I've really liked having the steam deck is it's easy to pause and come back later if you want.
