Making money hasn't been the goal for some time. Fascists have realized that the planet won't be able to sustain more than ~1billion people, very soon. They are hogging resources, land, water, etc through datacenters and other means to become the judge of who lives and who dies. And they will decide based on "eugenical" (aka racist, ableist, other-ist) factors for the plebs, and of course every CEO and investor wants to be on the panel instead of being judged by the panel. That's why the seemingly panicky decisions.
They are right about the planet.
It's on us to get to 1billion through more peaceful, controlled, multi-generational ways for the common people, and starting by punishing fascist behavior with the necessary consequences.
