LGBTQ toilets? That's new to me... Nevertheless, I agree.
People get upset because special trans toilets are created: with a sign similar to β§οΈ. Just the sight can make your vessels pop.
I've seen gender neutral bathrooms but I don't think I've seen bathrooms for trans people specifically. Well, that's inefficient; trans folk make up, what, 1% of the population if rounding up?
I could also see some might feel "outed" by having to use them, instead of any and all using a gender neutral option well-designed for privacy. Trans peeps get the same access as everyone else, my cis woman self also wins by having bathroom cubicles that don't have an inch-wide gap around the door. (I think this is what intersectional allyship looks like ππ, /s sorta)
Indeed.
I believe it was an astroturfed (temporary) social media campagne to stir up hate.
Nobody would care or be negatively affected by it.
We know what is allowed on social media and the awful people who run it.
To be fair, I think all toilets should be sex neutral. But thatβs also a topic that I canβt get upset about.
Hmm, I initially thought trans men (for example) go to the men's bathroom, but that does make sense too.
Sorry, I'm very uninformed about LGBTQ.
They do/can, but it's not like you physically look like the opposite gender the moment that you decide you were assigned the wrong gender. People will give you looks or get upset if you look like a dude barging into the women's toilets, so (from what I've heard) it's a struggle during the transition period where you feel like you belong in one place but society wants you in another. Unisex toilets make this easy. I'm not familiar with toilets specifically reserved for trans people but I assume unisex is what's being referred to
