for people who used linux on desktop then left it. what problems made you leave? (programming.dev)

i used linux many times on desktop and always had problems so i left.

some of them are,needing to compile kernel module for my laptop fans speed control and enrolling it in MOK, ms office 365 not working,and most recently on my latest trying of linux just today. kubuntu refusing to boot after i installed it with luks2 encryption.

so i just use windows 11 now .

I ran Linux on my main machine back in 2010-2012, it was for the most part fine, but I missed put on a lot of great games, neither I nor Linux was ready for gaming on Linux at the time.

Then I was given an old workstation from my dad's office, it ran Windows, and I bought a terrible GPU for it, I then played Bioshock and later Half-Life 2 for the first time, and got hooked back on Windows and gaming.

I am currently planning on migrating to Linux when I build a new computer, but I can't migrate before I have completed my NAS (just need two 8TB HDDs to complete it, it has been on hold for more than a year....

Once that is is done I can migrate my stuff onto a 32TB Zraid2 and things will be far easier.
