Not just that but corporate Dems are status quo-ers and same-ers. Fascists actively want regressive policies, progressives want progress, and centrists want nothing. Genuinely they roadblock everyone on purpose because they don't like change. Given the choice between progress (change they've never seen before, hasnt been done, havent considered) and regress (change they are familiar with so it feels more "same" for them), they often side with regress but not always. Regressives also can appeal to centrist's love of the same by making them think they can balance incremental progress with incremental regressive policies, which the Dems agree is a fair trade because they DO NOT WANT CHANGE.*
But you can't teally run a campaign on "Let's do NOTHING!"
Dems were an active thorn in the regressive side for a long time and it was them who forced the slow drip regressive and progressive movements. Some (me) might call it a genuine failure of them to actually do their job of governing and responding to urgent political matters using up to date resources at their disposal. Some (me) might say it is because their job, what they get paid for, is to suck up to the wealthy and do what they are told, and then make speeches to soothe voters that they don't care about anyway.
I will say the list of good Dems is longer than what a lot of you have written. Maxwell Frost, Al Green, Melanie Sransbury, Stacey Abrams, that rep from Massachusetts with the hair, Jasmine Crockett... probably more. It isn't just AOC and Bernie doing a good job, we have others
** Examples: Progressives want healthcare for all. Regressives (fascists) want no healthcare for anyone. Samers say, hey, this healthcare thing is popular, so we have to pass something but nothing too "crazy" (free healthcare models have been in human society for thousands of years yet progressives are always seen as "crazy"). So they then use regressive, slave-based policies to attach your healthcare to your work status. And feel like they've really done something there
