Well thats just straight up pessimism without anything backing it other than depression.

Its ok to be worried that the worst can happen but just accepting it is not helpful. Things happen and change all the time. Better and worse.

Learned anything? I am learning stuff all the time. I just use that to adjust my view of the world not act smug about feeling bad about the world. There is no lesson that the world only gets worse.

I expect I'll be holding up better than you.

Well, I'm here to eat crow. I've grown to just assume the worst will always happen and genuinely did not think something positive could occur. While some BS could still happen, I will admit that maybe things aren't always hopeless and I was wrong for believing that to be the case.

And agree, garbage can always still happen but it doesn't mean it has to. Hope keeps us from accepting the worst only.
