It kind of depresses me since they're young. Brainwashing is a thing in Korea apparently

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Brainwashing is a thing in 100% of the countries. Just kinda depends on what side of the wash you are on if it matters or not.

I didn't mention it my original comment but I think there are levels of brainwashing and America is in the top 10 of brain-dead, brainwashed countries.

These dudes are probably fluent in English.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Brainwashing has little to do with the language spoken

[–] a4ng3l@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Isn’t it? It sure makes easier to get exposed to the right tropes. And for much cheaper.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Tropes are available in every language.

American and English content is much more prevalent and much more involved in propaganda… Only looking at Hollywood and how movies have been pushing American superiority for a while it is obvious that English is a special vessel. I’m pretty sure Vietnamese also have some propaganda bullshit going on but absolutely not with the reach of American / English media.

SK is an American enclave, lol, of course they'd be fed the same anti-humanist nonsense the Burgers are. People are very stupid on average everywhere, certainly, but those who stand for nothing because their lives revolve around superficial stuff, consumerism and hedonism, will fall for anything. 🤷

As an Australian, alas, so is Australia.

Based on everything I've seen come out of South Korea, I don't believe you.

South Koreans are desperate to copy Americans, which is why their women put on makeup to look white and why their nation is run by corporations.

You can find Charlie Kirk memorial events almost all over the world. Do you think this is somehow reflective of how all South Koreans think?

but those who stand for nothing because their lives revolve around superficial stuff, consumerism and hedonism, will fall for anything.

This is an accusation often thrown at secularists, and liberals - who are not normally Charlie Kirk fans - so your logic doesn't make sense here.
