"As revolutionaries, we don't have the right to say that we're tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We also know that when the people understand, they cannot but follow us. In any case, we, the people, have no enemies when it comes to peoples. Our only enemies are the imperialist regimes and organizations." Thomas Sankara, 1985

Idk they are scapegoating but it is not completely wrong. Illegal immigrants are used to depress wages, if they get uppity they can be deported on a whim.

That is why those arguments get such support, because they have a basis, and are then used to scapegoat all of the problems that results from the rich stealing our fucking lunch.

Except the solution to that problem would be to make the pathway to citizenship straightforward, along with making worker protection the basis of labor laws. Removing the material basis does not mean you need to mass deport immigrants so that whites can swoop in and also get fucked with shitty labor practices.

The capitalists who employ migrants are doing so becuase its cheap labor, therefore the citizen's workforce needs to organize around guarteeneed employment and raising the status these exploited laborers.

It's a scapegoat because the material basis that moves the people us being designed by capitalists, whereas migrants gave zero control over their own exploitation.

Without a labor movement jobs means nothing but poverty for workers for sure. Immigrant labor is a small part of the erosion in wages, and environmental protections.

Capital has taken higher and higher shares and it is now clearly unsustainable, wages do not pay for life. Either we get higher wages, or we do not work, or we get bound to our jobs by law as the admin will want to do to stem the bleeding after the downturns and labor strife syarts.
