The only reason to not shoot them down is cos it gives away the behaviour of the defence systems.

Best if we can find some 90s tech to shoot them with to keep putin guessing

It's a feint. Putin is trying to pull resources from Ukraine by making Europe actively defend the complete Russian border.

You don't do what your enemy wants you to do.

I feel like this will blow up in his face though. Europe is sorta half commited to supporting Ukraine, this will just shore up support almost immediately.

Unfortunately most were disposed of in early 2000's and even Spain axed them around 2015.
