I'm not antisemitic and I think circumcision is wrong. It's sexual assault, normalized.
I get the traditional and cultural reasons why it was done, but that time is gone.
I think historically, intersex people would have an operation to assign a single gender. Nowadays, we wait, as it is considered cruel to assume. Why is it different for religion? Why do we have an exception for people who are not medically trained to perform what is essentially an operation.
The only reason it is tolerated and legal and common is due to cultural memory. If some new religion required all children to have their appendix removed preventively, we would not do that.
Hadn’t thought of appendicitis prevention as an Avenue for cultists’ insanity. You may have just written into being some new bs for 2030.

fully agreed, but I will note that "corrective" genital mutilation on intersex folks is still very much a thing.
