Davinci Resolve supports Linux natively nowadays, and the FOSS video editor Kdenlive is actually pretty impressive now as well.

If you're into self harm, blender is a pretty well featured video editor as well. Also, is Linux native.

blenders realtime compositor is faster than any video editor, obv not nearly as good for the tasks youd do, but im sure someone better than me could do a lot with the realtime previews

I pretty much exclusively use eevee when playing around on blender, love seeing everything realtime close to the final result, if only blender had embergen/jangafx sim capabilties

Definitely I know, I'm just working with Adobe maybe to my own detriment haha.

I've also not followed anything on the gaming side, I heard it's way better than what it once was but still with windows I guess, I know I can just run anything I want and work with.

I also kind of wish Windows wasn't hell bent on making poor decisions, I don't know how they didn't start charging us with every version of Windows, I still got my Windows 8.1 key which I used until now, so that's the only "okay" thing about them.

Have I got a video for you :p

It truly is! In some cases (with AMD cards) it can even out-perform windows. For the most part most games just work without tweaking thanks to Proton being integrated into Steam, but unfortunately competitive online games with anti-cheat can be a no-go if the devs haven't enabled Linux support (still, even there we have some surprises, like Hunt Showdown enabling it).

Heh, I thought for sure that video was going to be pewdiepie complaining about the user-lock-in of adobe, where not only do they charge a subscription fee, but demand another fee to stop using it!

Adobe are a great example of a sodftware company to do a full exit from as soon as possible. Utterly vile abuse of its users.
