22 downvotes from that company......
Remember to use candidate name and company name variables.
Well it looks like this reminder worked 😆
Why not just say "we are sorry but we will not be moving forward with your application at this time" like a normal person?
Unless....
Why not ghost the candidate whoch seems to be the most normal response these days for some reason
Wouldn't it have been easier to just get AI to wrote the message and then just use that same canned response going forward instead of using AI to generate it each time? What a waste of resources
If it’s a canned response, why not just do it yourself? It’d take like 5 minutes. Oh, those skills are rotting because AI? Yeah.
because they probably fired the person who does it and filled the position with AI
Also people don't know how to be social anymore so they find it easier to tell a robot to write a warm rejection email rather than writing one themselves.
I see this a lot. I got brought into a project where the entire CI/CD was a prompt.
Who's to say this isn't ai's best effort?
He spent more time writing the prompt than he would with just writing an email. I think you dodged a bullet by not getting hired there
Also email templates are a solved problem, there is like no reason to use AI for this
I find it amusing that they tried to automate it with variables, etc, but seemingly wanted to make LLM generate a new response every time. Standard once written or even generated rejection form could've been more economically sound. But, but - then you wouldn't up the metrics of AI usage in your department!
"Please generate an AI prompt for a polite rejection message for a candidate that wasn't picked"
And this, friends, is why you use a human in the loop if you're using AI
The whole point is they don't care enough about you, the candiate, to put a human in the loop.
Just don't use ai
Shouldn't hide the company's name.
Might go to doxing the poster if it's a local company.
Also when you click apply and within seconds get a rejection email and this is the first sentence:
"Thank you for applying, after careful consideration we decided not to move forward..."
Reply: You really missed out not offering me a job, as I would have never made such a big mistake. But seeing how unprofessional your company is, I am no longer interested.
As a cost-cutting measure, rejected applicants will be given a prompt and expected to generate their own rejection message. {{Announcement_closing}}.
Nah just shame em now… don’t let them hide behind this fallacy.
This has increased after AI. Heck rejections come within a few seconds of applying. Once I got (what I presume an internal-only info) something akin to "this opening is just for compliance reasons. We are actually not hiring for this position". This placeholder was sent with rejection email (again presuming its for internal info only)
I would actually enjoy reading that. We all know it happens, and happens a lot. Would be nice to hear about it so we know we didnt fail, it just wasnt possible to succeed.
Can't that be reported to whatever government agency that made the requirement?
Employers "mimimi, don't write your cover letter with AI!!!"
Where meme?
This place has devolved into just images some may find mildly entertaining.
If only there was a community for that...
What on earth about this message requires AI?
This is a simple string interpolation that anyone who has been coding for five minutes can write a script for.
It doesn't even need to be personal. Just send them a notification notice. Nothing about this has to be personalized, it's already going to their email. Anything more and it's just bs. Even the notification of rejection email is already kinda bs because when you never hear back, you know you've been rejected, and the email itself is a functional courtesy. It could literally just be:
Email:
From: company@company.org
To: you
Subject: jobname application rejection date
Body: none
Dookieman12 up in here making it his personal mission to provide a definition of "meme" to all the naysayers , lol
And providing a link to the wrong Wikipedia page as he's insulting people lmao
Still better than ghosting I usually get.
I don’t know, I think I’d rather be ghosted
Ghosts are way more eco-friendly than AI, and way less tied up in billionaire wealth.
