I was a long time android user, 20+ years maybe, I don’t know. Anyway, I Switched to iPhone a few months ago so I could easily share calendars with family and use location tracking and AirTags. The phones are basically the same as Android. Different but the same and not as big a difference as I thought. Less different than moving from windows to Linux or gnome to kde or pen to pencil.
Rally against Apple or Google or whomever but I was able to just move on with my life and have a bit more convenience with my family. It’s fine.
Most comments complaining about vibe-coding are just butt-hurt programmers who are annoyed that Joe Schmoe can produce a decent looking website in about 20 minutes without having had to waste their formative years nerding out on forums and chasing stray semicolons.
Every time someone on here says "hey, I made a cool (but harmless) interactive tool/map/website" the top comment is always "this looks vibecoded as hell" or "whats with claude.md, asshole?". I'm all for the democratization of the economy so that social welfare, de-growth, environmental regulation and technological caution are rewarded instead of punished- including halting the datacenters and LLM proliferation for a few decades at least. But ya'll sound like professional chefs complaining that the neighbour bought a microwave and a thermomix.. or whining that they pimped out a cake mix instead of baking one from scratch. Just chill and maybe try to be helpful instead.
"this looks vibe coded" doesn't mean "we don't like your project because it used ai"
it means "your project for fucking sure does not do what you think it does because you are not a skilled developer enough to understand the code that the AI generated for you"
to which the counterargument the slopper would throw is "I wrote tests for requirements and the tests are passing"
how would a slopper know the code generated fits the requirements vs strictly only passes test cases ?
That "modern" architectural style where you get houses that often have flat roofs, blocky structures, large glass walls and the rest usually white plaster or unpainted wood (idk the name but I think most people have seen it and I see people hating on it more often than not. I dont mean brutalism since what im talking about doesn't usually have unpainted concrete everywhere but it looks maybe related) looks pretty good actually. Not every example sure, but in general I find the aesthetic pleasantly futuristic looking.
Nirvana and The Beatles are super over rated and are only well known because they sold out/were promoted at the right place time so that record industry fat cats could use them to cash in on counter cultures.
Also Elvis/Led Zeppelin/Eminem stole music from black people and made money by making it ok for rich white kids to listen to.
Also, Drake is a pussy ass wannabe rich kid from the suburbs.
Sometimes it's painful to be this brave, but the truth must be shared. /S
Watching porn is morally problematic.
Most people aren’t paying for their porn. They’re watching stuff uploaded, for free/pirated, often without the involvement or approval of the people involved.
Porn also normalizes extreme acts - things like choking, which is more dangerous than actually whipping someone.
